Hi Ladies! Welcome to the One in a Million bible study. I'm praying for each of you as you begin this journey.
As a beginning, let me explain how this will work. You will complete your workbook "homework" for the week. Then on Thursday I will post questions for you to answer from your homework. You will click on the comment link under the post and type in your answers/observations. This way everyone can read and make comments back and forth to one another. I ask that you post your answers to the Thursday post by Sunday of the same week. This way we will have everyone's post completed before starting the next week's work. If you ever have suggestions to make this better, please let me know. We'll see how this works with everyone.
Ok, so here's your first assignment.... Since everyone doesn't know each other, I thought it would be great to post a little about yourself on here to let people get to know a little about you. This way we can have a little connection since we are not meeting face to face. Feel free to tell anything that you would like to share. I'd love to hear some of your testimony of what God has done and is doing in your life as well. Enjoy meeting your fellow bible study partners!!!
Praying for you all!!!

Hey Everyone! I am Michelle Confer. I teach music at Harp Elementary.
ReplyDeleteI was born and raised in Carthage, Missouri. I am the middle of three girls; all of us are two years apart and really close. We were raised in the church all our lives. I accepted Christ at the age of five. I’ve always had a hunger for the Lord in my life. As I’ve gotten older it has taken on new forms and attributes. I love worship music! I really connect to God through art, nature, music, and beauty. This study is such an answer to prayer in my life! It has been many years since I’ve been in a really deep, good study. I can only handle so many ‘Mocha on the Mount’ studies that have kept me right at the surface and never made me uncomfortable. I’ll be honest, I did the first week of our study and already have convictions and ah ha moments. I am so thankful! So, Christi, thank you for being the vessel God is using to bring us together! Another plus to this study is a connection with others that I can talk to at school or on this blog. It is hard to know where to start sometimes with digging deeper in relationships, especially with limited time. Now I have more to ‘discuss’ and really grow deeper in friendships.
I am blessed with an awesome husband, Chris. He is an incredibly godly husband that always leads us with integrity. We met in college at Anderson University in Indiana. We both sang in the choir and were resident assistants. He works at JBU in Career Development and teaches Career classes. He is a real blessing to me.
My sister Sarah and her husband live in Fayetteville. My parents live in Rogers. My oldest sister lives in Columbia, Missouri with her husband and four kids- Riley(kindergarten), Reese(pre-school), Claire (almost 2), and baby Sadie (two weeks). Chris’s brother is in Indiana with his wife and two boys, Robby (4), Wes (2). Chris’s parents live in Michigan where we go for holidays and breaks.
We have a cozy home in Siloam Springs, good health, a great marriage, and a gracious loving God.
We are blessed.
Can’t wait to get to know everyone!!! Michelle
Hello! My name is Reba. I am a kindergarten teacher at Walker Elementary; I think this is my 13th year in Springdale. I live in Springdale not far from my school. I am married to Mark (he is one of the "PIE" guys...as in Partners in Education); he handles marketing and lighting design for a local engineering company. We have four kids. Hunter (boy) is 11, Lauren (girl) is 8, Maria is 5, and Joshua is 2 1/2. Our youngest two are adopted from Guatemala. (Lots of pics on our blog...www.thecloudchronicles.blogspot.com) I have been a Christian since I was in elementary school. I have had periods of real growth, and I have had the valleys where I felt stagnant. In the last year, I have felt a quiet faith, but this year I am yearning for a growing passion to stir again. I am looking forward to doing this Bible Study. I need it (and you) to hold me accountable in digging deeper in the Word and my relationship with God. Also, with school and the four kids, my time "out" in traditional Bible Studies is very difficult. I don't have the book yet...hoping to find it this week. But I am ready to begin!
ReplyDeleteHi All!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Gina Musgrave. I’m a never-married, single gal who works as an admin assistant at FBC Springdale. I’ve been dating the fabulous Al for a year and a half… and am praying to move on up to the next category soon! Y’all pray to k? :O)
I have a BS in Psychology and am currently 2/3 of the way through a Master of Divinity degree. Soon as I finish up with that I intend to hit John Brown for my MA in counseling.
I’ve been a Christian since I was 5 and God and I have been on quite a journey. I am excited to be in a Bible Study again and not just doing classwork on the subject.
I love writing, teaching and singing. In my spare time I… wait… I don’t have much spare time… but I am a rabid Razorback fan and a Wii kung fu master.
I look forward to “meeting” you all and spending some time digging into God’s word together.
-Gina
My name is Shannon Hollowell and I am so glad that God has laid on Christi's heart to bring us all together for a Bible study through the wonderful world of technology.
ReplyDeleteI met my husband at Central Baptist College 18 years ago. We celebrated 16 years of marriage last August. I work for Wal-Mart Home Office in Corporate Investigations(14 yrs with the company).
For so many years, we so related to the story of Abramah and Sarah or Hannah from the Bible. But about 5 years ago God placed on our hearts to become foster parents with the hopes of adoption. And 4 years ago, Brandon, Michael and Catalina came into our lives (all three are biological siblings). In February, we will celebrate 3 years of being a legal and "Forever Family". God has such a senes of humor-but isn't that just like God to bless us beyond our wildest expectations! Three at once-WOW! What a change that took place in our house (ha ha) But a change that we wouldn't have any other way!
I was saved at the early age of 6. And even though through my teen years, I may not have made the best choices, I know that God was always with me and has forgiven me for those and has allowed me to have a closer walk with Him today.
I am so excited to go through this Bible study and build some new friendships through this adventure.
My name is Sarah Gladstone and I live in Fayetteville. I graduated from the U of A in 2004. I met my husband, Bill, there and we were married in Sep 2006. I am a Certified Travel Agent for Destinations on Wedington Drive. I’ve been working there since I graduated from college and it has proven to be a great fit since I’m passionate about seeing the world. I was really excited when my sister, Michelle Confer, told me about this study and invited me to take part. I grew up in the church and would say mostly it’s been a roller coaster and I’ve had spiritual highs and lows. Last year at the age of 27 I really started to hunger for God and a personal relationship, I guess I sort of feel like I’m just now figuring it all out. I can’t really explain it, but I think my comprehension of Christianity is just now making sense. I’m excited to be surrounded by some Godly women who I’m sure to gain some great wisdom from.
ReplyDeleteHi! My name is Shannon Davis and I live in Fayetteville. I'm so excited to be doing this study and I'm so thankful for Christi for leading it. I graduated from UCA in Interior Design but I am currently a nanny until I have my own baby in Mid-March. I am really excited to get in this study and back in the Word. Sometimes I fall off the "Bible Study Wagon" if I don't have a book to do regularly.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Friends! My name is Kim Bishop and I live in Springdale with my fabulous family! Currently, I am the School Counselor at Parson Hills Elementary School in Springdale. I am married to Roy who works at Beards Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville and we have two boys
ReplyDelete; Carter (4) and Grayson (1). We lead a very busy life! We joined Sonora Baptist Church in August of this last year. We are thrilled to finally have a church home!
I have one sister, Michelle, who lives in Fayetteville, but is the band director in Gentry. Our parents live 6 hours away in ElDorado, but are planning to move up here in a few years.
I have always been involved in church, and I am very social(those who know me will totally agree!) With my two boys and Roy's schedule, my social outings are nonexistent. Which is why I jumped at the opportunity for this Bible study! I am excited to read God's word and share thoughts and feelings with others!

Can't wait to get started!
Hi everyone. While I know most people on here, I thought I'd go ahead and post a little about myself as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm a first grade teacher in Springdale. I love my school. I work with some great Christian women, and I love that! I am married to James. We've been married for a year and a half. WOW..what lessons I've learned on the marriage journey. I love my husband dearly and he has challenged me in my spiritual walk like no one else ever could.
I've been a Christian since I was 10. I've been in church my whole life. God has really "saved" me from a lot of things, and I'm truly thankful for that. I am trying to live my life to please him in all areas. He's really challenging me in some things over the past year, and I know the next year won't be any different. However, he's always faithful. James and I are praying to start a family soon--you can pray for that as well. Just praying for God to bring a miracle into our lives. I'm glad you are all doing this study. I love having others do bible study with me. It just challenges me to stay "sharp" in the Word!!
Hey! My name is April and I live in Fayetteville, and currently work for Bank of America HOme Loans, or at least until first of February. My job was eliminated last week...so I'll be on a job search and faith walk for sure. I've seen God do some amazing things before in regards to my job so I'm already looking forward to see how HE shows up in this situation. I'm thrilled to get to dive into the word with some other women and go deep! I've been a Christian since very early on in life, got saved at vacation bible school. I have been on the mountaintop with the Lord and he has taken me to the valley as well...He is FAITHFUL and I learn that with each valley!!! I'm looking forward to growing together ladies.I've already been quite convicted too with the first couple of days so I know I'm in for a ride! I'm single with no children but am aunt to 4 wonderful little ones that are blood but also to many more of my girlfriends little ones!
ReplyDeleteHi there...my name is Kimberly. I am blessed to have my wonderful husband (James) and my sweet little man (Caleb- 2). I was VERY blessed to be Hannah Grace's mommy while she spent her 4 years and 9 months here on earth. I am comforted in knowing that she is with the same God who led Israel out of captivity. You can read more about her story on www.caringbridge.org/hannahgracecrumby if you so desire. I teach kindergarten at Harp elementary and am privileged to work with some wonderful people. I am also taking some on-line courses, so I will try my best to keep up! Someone gave me this study while Hannah was in the hospital- I can testify that it is awesome. I was saved as a young child and have been in church my entire life; I really started wanting to mature spiritually after college. I have grown alot under my current pastor. I am an only child for all intents and purposes- I have 2 half sisters who live in NH. My mom lives in our home with us- she helps me so much. James recently lost his job, and he is waiting for a clear sense of direction. We would appreciate your prayers!
ReplyDeleteHello! My name is Allison. I am blessed to work at Harp and Turnbow Elementary Schools as a school-based therapist. I help children and families help themselves out of the difficulty of mental illness. I am ever growing and changing the way I look at my clients and my job. It is important for me to wrap my faith around my work and not the opposite. This is why is it so important for me to stay in the Word of God. Many times, my work screams very loud and tends to overpower God's gentle whispers to my soul. What He has called me to He will guide me through.
ReplyDeleteI have a wonderful husband, Steve who is a full-time pastor and two great kids. Brooke is 9 and Joshua is 12. They are also the reason I need to be in the Word...their cries and needs tend to be loud also.
I am so thankful for this study and the opportunity to learn to do Bible Study in a non-traditional way. I look forward to learning so much from each of you and getting to know you better as we go along.
I wish you all peace in the journey!!!
Hi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Michelle Lee and I'm late in joining the group but thankful to be able to jump right in. I've got the book and I'm ready to be challenged!
My dear friend,Michelle Confer, mentioned the study to me the other day and told me how she was really being refreshed by it and suggested I join as well. So here I am.
I actually came into a relationship with Christ when I was 15 because of Michelle's witness to me. She exemplified Jesus to me through her words and actions and pointed me to the WORD of God through little 4x6 notecards that she would put in my locker at school that contained scripture. I knew she was different and that she possessed something that my heart was yearning to possess as well. Praise the Lord for friends who live out their faith loudly!
I grew up in good ole Missouri and when I was 19 I got a job as a nanny and moved to the Washington DC area. This has been my home for different periods of time and I love everything about it...minus the traffic.
In 2004 I went to India to work with orphans and street children and thought I would stay for 6 months and then move to China. God had different plans though and I ended up staying in India until January 2009. I love the people of India and was so stretched in my faith in God during my time there. I would gladly return if given the opportunity.
I'm back in the states now pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education with the hopes of one day using that degree to do international work again. I just love working with children!! I am currently a toddler teacher at a playgroup in the city. Fun times!
On January 2, 2010 I married my best friend and the man I adore, Nathan (Nate), and we are living happily in Centreville, VA (just outside DC). Married life is wonderful and I'm so blessed by my husband.
I'm looking forward to this study for the same reasons many of you are. I don't want to be stagnate in my faith. There is abundant life in Him and I want to be living that out daily!
I'm excited to go on this journey with all of you faith filled women!
